Fused silica, also known as fused quartz, is manufactured by melting high-purity natural quartz sand at ultra-high temperature above 1700℃, followed by crushing, grinding and grading to form granular or powdery refractory raw materials.
Our fused silica products feature ultra-high SiO2 purity, extremely low linear thermal expansion, outstanding thermal shock resistance and superior acid resistance, which make it a core refractory raw material widely used in precision investment casting, high-temperature industrial kilns, glass production, photovoltaic industry and advanced ceramic manufacturing.
Unlike ordinary silica sand, fused silica eliminates the crystal phase transformation of quartz during heating, avoiding volume expansion, cracking and spalling under frequent cold-hot cycles. It maintains stable physical and chemical properties under long-term high-temperature service, becoming the preferred material for high-end heat-resistant components.
Ultra-Low Thermal Expansion Coefficient
Linear expansion coefficient is only 0.55×10/℃ (20~1000℃), far lower than alumina refractory materials. It will not crack under drastic temperature rise and drop, with excellent thermal cycle stability.
